Microsoft Forms for Creating and Sharing a Survey
Sometimes you need to gather data, whether from employees or customers, and there is a simple way to do that. Microsoft Forms allows you to gather data and share it. Here’s how.
You will start by logging into forms.microsoft.com using your Microsoft 365 account. You can also access it from the Microsoft 365 waffle icon in the corner. Then, click New Form.
Step Two
Next, you will want to add a Main Heading, a description, and a picture (optional) explaining what the form is about. You can add alternative text for your picture too.
Step Three
When you click add new, you will be given several options.
Choice allows you to give different choices for your respondents. You can use text if you have a question that requires a longer response. Ratings are helpful if you are asking for feedback on things like products or training courses. You can use the date picker if you are looking to gain feedback on when people are available.
Step Four
If you choose the choice Option, you will type in your question and give choices for your respondents to choose from. You can allow multiple answers via the toggle switch. You can also require a question to be answered by clicking that toggle switch.
You can add as many options as you like and move the options around to whatever order you want. You can add an “other” option for people to fill in their responses.
Step Five
You can change the theme of your survey by clicking on Theme in the top right corner. You can then preview your form by clicking the preview button.
Step Six
Finally, you share your survey by clicking on the Share button. On the Share screen, you can decide who will receive it and how you will send it. You have several options to share, including copying the link, sharing a QR code, embed the code in a webpage, or send it via email. You can then see responses as they come in by going back to your form and clicking on responses at the top.
