How To Change The Theme In Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook offers various features, and it is a preferred choice for many businesses since it has a workplace-focused user interface. Themes can create higher contrast, improve visibility, and ease eye strain. If you are looking to personalize your Outlook for a better experience, here is how to do it.
Themes you can choose
The theme depends on your Microsoft Outlook version. Common theme options include:
- Colorful theme — The colorful theme aligns with the visuals of your office applications. For instance, Excel has a green colorful theme.
- The white theme — It displays the classic look of the office.
- Dark gray theme — It is perfect if you prefer a softer take in the high-contrast visuals.
- Black theme — It gives the highest-contrast visual for your Office theme.
Changing the theme
The first thing you have to do is go to file > office account. You can also find these choices by going to file > options > general > office theme.
When you change the office theme from colorful to black, you will notice that the dark mode changes the default bright background color to a darker color. The darker color is easier on the eyes since it has a low light environment. It’s a suitable choice if you prefer a less bright interface.
Microsoft Outlook 365 gives you the option to show a message with a white background. If you like the black theme, but you do not want to change the background of the new and existing messages, then go to file > options > general tab.
Once in the general tab, check the box, never change the message background-color. The option displays only for the black theme. When you select the next email message and each message in the future, the lights remain on. The change also applies to new messages.
